Why doesn’t the laser cutting machine have a laser?

The laser cutting machine does not come out when cutting, which may be caused by a variety of reasons. Here are some common causes and their solutions:

 

1. Check the equipment status

Laser switch is not on:

Verify that the laser switch is turned on correctly. Switch "-" indicates that the switch is enabled and switch "O" indicates that the switch is disabled.

Power supply problem:

Check whether the laser power supply works properly. Check whether the power indicator is on. If it is off, check whether the power cable is loose and whether the laser switch is turned on.

If the power supply is normal but there is no light, try to press the test button on the laser power supply to see if there is a laser output.


2. Laser power and Settings

Laser power setting is too small:

Check whether the laser power Settings are too low. Ensure that the laser power Settings are within a reasonable range. Ensure that the minimum power is more than 10%.

Laser tube problem:

The laser tube may be damaged or aged, resulting in reduced laser output or no light at all. Check whether there is damage, water leakage, burn marks inside the laser tube.


3. Check the optical path system

Mirror or focusing mirror damage:

If the reflector or focusing mirror is not maintained or damaged on time, the laser will not focus or reflect correctly. Check the light path mirror and lens transmittance is good, to ensure that the lens is not stained, no cracks.

Optical path offset:

The laser path deviation will cause the laser to fail to shine correctly on the processed material. Check whether the laser optical path is offset and adjust it to the correct position.


4. Check other auxiliary systems

Water circulation system:

Laser cutting machines are usually equipped with a water circulation system to cool the laser tube. Check that the water circulation is normal and ensure that the water circulation is smooth. If there is a problem with the water protection system, try to short-circuit the water protection (note: this operation must be done carefully to avoid damage to the laser tube).

Control signal and light signal:

Check whether the light signal, control signal and water protection signal of the chiller are normal. Ensure that all control signals are transmitted in place and no faults occur.


5. Other possible reasons

Optocoupler isolator failure (if applicable) :

If an optocoupler is installed on the device, the fault of the optocoupler may cause that the outgoing optical signal cannot be transmitted to the laser power supply. At this point, you can try to take out the optocoupler isolator and connect the signal line directly to the laser power supply for testing.

Software and hardware compatibility issues:

Check whether the software and hardware of the laser cutting machine are compatible, and ensure that all software is updated to the latest version to avoid laser output due to software problems.
