How to judge the need to replace the laser cutting machine lens

1. Visual inspection: regularly check the surface of the lens for scratches, cracks, damage, depression or metal residue and other physical damage. These damages will interfere with the quality of the laser beam, resulting in reduced cutting effect.

2. Cutting quality monitoring:

If the quality of the cutting product is found to be reduced, such as rough and uneven incision, or the cutting speed is significantly slowed down, it may be a signal that the performance of the lens is reduced.

Observe whether there are slag or burn marks on the workpiece, which may mean that the laser energy is unevenly distributed, related to the condition of the lens.

3. Cleaning difficulty: if the pollutants on the lens (such as dust, soot, oil stains) are difficult to remove, or still affect the laser transmission efficiency after cleaning, it may need to be replaced.

4. Use time and maintenance records:

According to the frequency of use of the lens and the type and thickness of the cutting material, refer to the recommended service life of the lens. For example, focusing lenses need to be replaced approximately every 2400 hours or 3-6 months under normal conditions of use.

Reflector lenses may need to be replaced every two years or so, depending on the power usage, and the replacement frequency is higher for high power use.

5. Power detection: monitor the laser output power, if it is found that the power is reduced and not caused by other adjustable factors, it may be that the lens absorption rate is increased, reducing the laser efficiency.

6. Performance test: laser spot quality detection, if the spot pattern changes significantly, indicating that the lens may have been aging or damaged.
