In the field of metal working, the bending machine is a key process that processes efficient and accurate metal parts for a variety of industries. However, in actual operation, operators may encounter some problems, affecting product quality and production efficiency. Understanding these common problems and familiar with the solution can ensure the smooth progress of the bending process, improve work efficiency and product quality.

1. Distortion and deformation problems:

During the bending process, due to the uneven distribution of stress inside the material, the parts may be distorted or deformed, making the size and shape of the final product unable to meet the requirements.

Solution:

Appropriate process parameters: For different types of materials and thicknesses, appropriate bending angles, pressures and speeds need to be adjusted. The risk of material deformation can be reduced by reasonable parameter setting.

Reserve allowance: When cutting the material, a certain amount of allowance should be reserved so that the elastic deformation of the material can be compensated during the bending process to ensure the final size is accurate.

2. Bending Angle is not accurate:

After bending, the Angle of the part may not match the design requirements, which may lead to assembly difficulties or product quality degradation.

Solution:

Angle calibration: The Angle adjustment system of the bending machine needs to be calibrated regularly to ensure that it can accurately control the bending Angle. If the Angle deviation is too large, professional adjustment and calibration may be required.

Tool inspection: Wear of tools and tooling can affect the accuracy of the bending Angle. It is necessary to regularly check and replace severely worn tools to ensure the accuracy of bending.

3. Bent edge damage problem:

During the bending process, the edges of the material may be damaged, cracked or splintered, affecting the appearance and strength of the part.

Solution:

Appropriate tools and tooling: Select tools and tooling that are suitable for the material type and thickness. Knives that are too sharp or ill-fitting can cause edge breakage.

Bending radius selection: According to the bending properties of the material, select the appropriate bending radius. Small bending radii may cause edge cracks.

4. Wrinkle problem of bending material:

During the bending process, the surface of the material may appear wrinkled, undulating or corrugated, affecting the appearance and quality of the part.

Solution:

Process parameter adjustment: Adjust the bending speed and pressure to avoid excessive force during bending, thereby reducing the risk of wrinkling of the material.

Backer support: Using a backer to support the inside of the material during bending helps reduce wrinkling problems.

5. Material direction problem:

The texture direction of the material may affect the result of bending, resulting in uneven bending or cracking.

Solution:

Know the texture of the material: Before bending, know the texture direction of the material. In general, bending in the direction of the grain will be more stable.

Reverse bending: For materials with obvious textures, reverse bending can be attempted to reduce the impact of textures on bending.
